According to the classical eastern traditions, there are 7 chakras or energy centers in our body and each chakra has a color associated with it depending on its type of vibration and frequency. They follow the 7 colors of the rainbow. Each chakra has a sound or syllable associated with it as well such as Lam, Vam, Ram etc., which can be used to chant during meditation.

From the base of the spine to the top of the head the 7 chakras are

1. Root chakra (red) – Lam
2. Sacral chakra (orange) – Vam
3. Solar Plexus chakra (yellow) – Ram
4. Heart chakra (green) – Yam
5. Throat chakra (blue) – Ham
6. Third-eye chakra (indigo) – Om
7. Crown chakra (violet) – Aum

I have incorporated the respective colors and the syllables of each of the chakras into these Premium wooden Chakra bookmarks that have been finely laser engraved, and hand painted on high quality basswood.
